Reasons to Stick By Steemit

Most people don’t know about steemit. Steemit is a Blockchain based social media platform whereby users are paid for creating and curating contents. The cyptocurrency paid by the platform goes by the name Steem.

Making money on steemit is not as easy as it sounds. It’s not a get-rich-quick scheme. You have to invest a lot of time and effort in order to gain Steem. Basically, only a portion of about 20%-30% of the total users of Steemit are active. The rest did quit. In this article, we are going to look at some of the reasons why you should not yet throw in the towel:

It’s a unique and special platform

If Steemit was easy, everyone would do it and here would be nothing special about it. Basically, people use Facebook and Instagram to stay connected with friends and family, I included. Mainly, we use Facebook and Instagram to draw attention. Normally you get to post great quality content and no one responds to it. Post something stupid, everyone will be all over it interacting with you. It’s all about impressing people and there is nothing special about it. Over there, no one is interested in your views or perspectives. You can write meaningful articles and no one even bothers reading it. Hence,  promoting creativity and this makes it a special platform for creatives.

Steemit doesn’t steal my personal information

Steemit prohibits ads or at least  has not yet put in place a policy for ad placement. This means that Steemit Inc. does not sell my data to third parties. It’s quite happier and calmer here unlike Facebook where someone is constantly trying to sell me something. Also, I can use a pseudonym instead of my real identity. No one forces you to reveal your true identity on Steemit; at least, that’s how the internet was supposed to be.

I have a voice

I can express my opinion on the direction of Steemit. Even if the developers may not embrace my opinion, it’s a bit positive having the ability to contribute. You can point out on the flaws, come up with solutions or even suggest different alternatives. That kind of power is not available in Facebook and other social media networks. It’s a survival for the fittest platform, but there exists a consciousness component on Steemit.

An opportunity to turn my creative power into money

this should just be taken as a bonus to the very many pros of using Steemit. It’s true you can’t make a decent amount of money. For some people it’s impossible since it takes a lot of effort and energy to receive their first payment. It’s a long, tiresome journey to gain traction on Steemit. Most people lose hope and leave the site. Just blog out of passion and if you gain Steem, take it as a bonus.

In conclusion

Those are just but a few reasons to help you make the right decision. If you aim at making loads of cash through Steemit, it won’t work out for you. It’s best to enjoy the great technology that comes with it and continue growing in experience as a creative. It’s not yet time to leave Steemit. Stick by it, and watch it transform the world.
