More than 80% of the bitcoin holders are in a position of profit right now, according to a <a href="https://studio.glassnode.com/metrics?a=BTC&amp;m=indicators.UtxoRealizedPriceDistributionAth&amp;s=1577325540&amp;u=1588809600&amp;zoom=" target="_blank" rel="noopener">data report </a>by Glassnode. The recent upturn in bitcoin prices which has brought it near to the $10,000 mark has placed 81% of bitcoin investors in a position to reap rewards.

 Glassnode used UXTO Realised price distribution to reach this conclusion. It is basically defined as unspent transaction output.  In street terms, if someone has to pay $4, he can't just pick out half of 2$. Similarly, when it comes to bitcoin when you make a payment of $5 and your wallet has $10 bitcoin, the whole amount is taken out, processed, the due amount is given to the merchant and then the remaining amount is sent back to the BTC wallet.

This method of the transaction helps the bitcoin track keep a complete record of the amount involved and it's movement. The starting price point is taken and the range for each UTXO is taken into account and the profitability of bitcoin holders is then measured.
<h2>Bitcoin Holders To Seize the Opportunity?</h2>
Given the number of people in a profitable zone, it indicated that a bitcoin's rally could be in place, especially as the bitcoin halving is lurking around. The UTXO metric showed a dip by 40%  when the market meltdown of March happened. This was the lowest it has ever been recorded since October 2015.

However, the green zone holders could get lured into the temptation of selling off their asset, given they could make a big profit in the current scenario.  The massive sell-off, if it happens, could lead to huge short term gains in the short term, but this could lead to a price drop.
