NFT artist Beeple’s Twitter account was recently hacked as part of a phishing scam to promote a fake link to a website of a collaboration with fashion designer Louis Vuitton. As of yet, scammers have stolen more than $71,000 in Ethereum.
<h2><strong>Beeple's Twitter Account is the Latest in NFT Phishing Scams</strong></h2>
In a now-deleted tweet, Beeple posted a link to a phishing website, saying
<blockquote><em> “Been working on this with LV for a long time behind the scenes. 1000 total unique pieces…Official raffle below.”</em></blockquote>
Soon after, several prominent figures in the NFT space took to Twitter to warn others of the NFT phishing scam.

Among them includes Harry Denley, a Security Analyst at MetaMask who alerted users that Beeple’s temporarily shared a phishing link that, if clicked on, would steal users’ crypto.

The scammers were likely looking to capitalize on a real recent collaboration between Beeple and Louis Vuitton. Earlier in May, Beeple designed 30 NFTs for the luxury fashion brand’s “Louis The Game” mobile game which were embedded as rewards to players.

Beeple later tweeted that his account was back to normal, adding:
