Agri10x which is a startup of Agtech is now planning to support the small-scale farmers of India. It will be supporting farmers by connecting them with global buyers using blockchain technology. This was announced by the firm on Tuesday where it said that it had entered into a partnership with the Indian government. Through this partnership, it will help all the remote farmers of the nation to get a fair value for what they produce.
Pankajj Ghode, CEO of Agri10x has said that his firm is aiming to provide easy access to the global marketplace to the farmers. With this, the small-scale farmers will be able to sell all of their products directly without any need of middlemen.
Agri10x will have access to Indian government’s national CSCs
Through this partnership, Agri10x will also have access to the national common service centres of the Indian government. With this, the farmers will be able to register themselves on the blockchain platform of the company. Now this registration will be done through the village level entrepreneurs.
The major reason behind building up this platform is to provide potential buyers to the farmers for their produce. There will not be any more profit margin sharing with the middlemen by using this platform as the whole profit will go the farmer only.
Farmers will receive payments through smart contracts
It has also been mentioned that the farmers will be getting timely payments as the platform will process payments through smart contracts. Earlier there was any involvement of a third party because of which there was a delay in the payments but with this platform, it will be made quickly. Sandeep Bose, CTO of Agri10x has said that with the help of this platform, the farmers will be able to understand the exact value of their crops. Hence, they will be getting a fair amount for their produce. The firm is imagining that this move is going to boost small-scale agriculture to a great extent.
