Andre Cronje Tops List of “DeFi Person of the Year”

Vandana  |  Dec 17, 2020

DeFi Prime, a DeFi analysis portal, has recently made a list of top personalities and innovators in the industry for the year, 2020. The criteria on which the firm has made this list has not been revealed yet. Among all, Andre Cronje, the founder of Yearn Finance, came on the top of the list. He has received this position for developing such an innovative project and it is stated:

“He’s also an incredibly humble and skilled leader who’s laid the blueprint for how to create great DeFi services in collaboration with a committed global community of stakeholders.”

Sergey Nazarov Followed Andre Cronje in the List

After Andre Cronje, Sergey Nazarov, the co-founder of Chainlink, was on the list among the runners up. Hayden Adams, the founder of Uniswap was also able to make it up to the list for introducing the largest decentralized exchange. Not only this, but he is also responsible for taking Ethereum back into the limelight. There was a time when Uniswap was having more trading volume as compared to Ethereum.

Stani Kulechov, CEO and co-founder of Aave, was nominated as the leading protocol’s team. AAVE token was awarded as the best performing DeFi asset of the year. There were several other developers and coders as well who were able to make it up to this list.

Several Notable Personalities Were Absent

Even though there were a lot of famous personalities of the DeFi sector in this list, several prominent ones were found missing. Sam Bankman-Fried, Serum and FTX founder, was not included in this list of top personalities. The most shocking one was Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, as most of the DeFi projects run on Ethereum only and his absence from the list is not normal. There are many others as well, who have done several great contributions to the DeFi industry and still were not able to make it up to this list.
