Anthony <a href="https://u.today/jeff-bezos-can-shut-off-eth-defi-dapps-any-moment-anthony-pompliano-claims">Pompliano</a>, a Bitcoin advocate, has said that <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/?p=77629&amp;preview=true&amp;preview_id=77629">Jeff Bezos</a>, founder and CEO of Amazon might shut down the majority of DeFi Dapps which are based on Ethereum. It is believed that this might be because now the majority of ETH nodes run on Amazon Web Services (AWS). 

Anthony Pompliano also asked his community how many projects which are based on Ethereum are decentralized. His tweets have received several replies from many crypto influencers and enthusiasts as well.

Pompliano Says Majority of ETH-Based DeFi dApps Are Not Decentralized

According to Pompliano, most of the DeFi dApps that are based on Ethereum are not the decentralized one. He stated this because the majority of the Ethereum nodes are hosted on AWS as according to one data, 70 percent of the nodes are hosted by Amazon. Along with Amazon, there are some other major platforms as well like Huawei, Alibaba, and Google Cloud.

Through this data, he has claimed that Ethereum basically lacks decentralized which means that DeFi projects are not having it as they are based on Ethereum only. 

Bitcoin Nodes are also Hosted by AWS

While Pompliano mentioned about Ethereum nodes being hosted on AWS, a lot of people from the community have responded to his tweet. There were some prominent ones as well who responded and one was Erik Voorhees, founder and CEO of SpaceShift. He mentioned that it is not only Ethereum nodes as a lot of Bitcoin nodes are also hosted by AWS. While mentioning this, he also talked about the modern Bitcoin maximalists.
