World’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, Binance, has <a href="https://www.binance.com/en/support/articles/360036908951" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that it has added margin trading support for Tezos (XBT) trading pairs. The pairs include XTZ/BTC and XTZ/USDT.

In addition, Binance has gone on a listing spree for margin trading recently. The company has included the pairs XRP/ETH, BNB/ETH, IOTA/BTC, and IOTA/USDT. At the beginning of the year, Bitfinex also added support for Tezos margin trading on its platform.
<h2>Margin Trading is Profitable but Risky</h2>
Ideally, margin trading allows traders to utilize third-party provided funds to trade at leverage. This allows the traders to access greater sums of capital for higher profits at a higher risk. Despite being able to make huge profits using little capital; margin trading can be extremely risky for traders who don’t know their way around price charts, indicators, supports resistances, and other tools generally during spot trading.

Notably, Binance offers a 5x margin.This means traders can leverage up to $10,000 with just a $2000 deposit. A little10% gain in value would see $1000 in profits instead of  $200 without margin. However, the losses can be damaging if the trader is wrong in their analysis of price movements.
<h2>Ethereum Killer</h2>
Furthermore, margin trading is more ideal for markets that show low volatility. However, cryptocurrencies are clearly not the ideal use-case.  Tezos has however been generally described by critics as an early Ethereum killer. The crypto saw gains toward the end of October, while all the other major cryptocurrencies were losing. Its resilience in facing the bear market, together with the addition of XTZ margin trading on Binance platform, could facilitate a significant surge in trade volumes here on out.
