An Ethereum based, pegged to bitcoin token which goes by the name of tBTC is gearing up for its public launch. The technical infrastructure would be up and running in a couple of weeks too with the support of MakerDAO, Compound and 40 more projects related to cryptocurrency.

The collaboration between Ethereum based KEEP network and Summa, a cross-chain communication tool provider resulted in ERC -20 token being fully pegged to bitcoin's supply.

The KEEP token has been developed by tBTC, and it would be the network's platform token, playing the role of "signer". The team has released smart contract and the signer would create and control those smart contracted in making deposits in bitcoin and minting the tBTC token.

The signers would compromise of project partners, workers,  and few of the private purchasers like Polychain.  Matt Luongo, the project lead had enunciated that approximately 80 to 100 stakers will turn signers at the launch of tBTC. There's a plan in place to run a stake drop <a href="https://www.crowdcast.io/e/keep-stakedrop---live/register" target="_blank" rel="noopener">event </a>in June, to allow anyone to become the signer of the protocol by staking ETH.

The tBTC app and the remaining infrastructure would be revealed next week.  On May 11, the app and the whole infrastructure would be available to use and anyone can deposit funds into the new app, but the project lead suggests that since it is a new system, users should try to not be too feisty and take it slow.
<h2>TBTC Price Feed to be Maintained by MakerDAO</h2>
The tBTC token received a yes from the MakerDao community last week, which would now be maintaining it's price feed. In near future Maker plans to use tBTC token to mint it'd DAI, it's stable coin too. Luongo belies this is a big step in the right direction in order to bring bitcoin collateral to MakerDAO.
