Blockchain analytics company Blockseer has <a href="https://stockhouse.com/news/press-releases/2020/10/29/dmg-s-subsidiary-blockseer-launches-bitcoin-mining-pool-focused-on-good" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">launched</a> the private beta version of Blockseer Mining Pool that censors transactions from those of blacklisted wallets. The new <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/bitcoin-mining-maker-ebang-loss-around-7-million-in-first-half-of-2020/">bitcoin mining pool</a> will use Blockseer and Walletscore’s labeling data among the list of verified sources including the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for the purpose of identifying and censoring transactions from blacklisted wallets.

</b></h2>
Miners in the new bitcoin pool need to undergo KYC rules to enroll themselves in Blockseer's new pool.

DMG’s COO Sheldon Bennett stated:

<em>“The pool is focused on being devoid of transactions from known nefarious wallets which use this medium in ways that continue to sully the reputation of cryptocurrencies, specifically Bitcoin, in the mainstream as well as to impede widespread adoption”</em>

<strong>Riccardo Spagni</strong>, the former lead developer of privacy cryptocurrency Monero, believes that this whole process could be disastrous in the longer term. Spagni also discussed that such kind of censorship may in the end become completely widespread amid the current pressures of regulatory authorities. Spagni however believes that adding more privacy protocol to Bitcoin can fix this.

Even other crypto leaders too echoed Spagni’s sentiment including the Founder of Wallet Scrutiny website Leo Wandersleb saying that censorship within bitcoin mining pools can lead towards soft forking where new bitcoin mining pools will reject those blocks that don't use filters.
<h2><strong>Transaction Censorship Not Completely Possible</strong></h2>
Eric Voskuil, a bitcoin enthusiast believes that a time will come in the near future where transaction censorship will be a serious threat to Bitcoin.

However, the CIO of BlockTower believes that such kind of transaction censorship is not at all possible as the majority of miners need to support it.

He said that even if only one miner does not comply with the rules then there might be a possibility for the blacklisted transactions to be included.
