A study by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance is recently been <a href="https://www.cbeci.org/mining_map" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a>, which explains how the hash power of Bitcoin is allocated around the world.

Although the report by the Cambridge Centre is not appropriate, still it gives clear details about the mining operations which are concentrated in China and other parts of the world.
<h2>Well-Distributed Mining</h2>
China utilizes a total of Bitcoin Hashrate, collectively, the reason for this is presumed to be the good distribution of mining across the nation.

The co-founder of Casa, Jameson Lopp, notified his Twitter followers about the study, which has been created by collecting information from the participating mining pools.

The report gives detail about the two-third of the total hashrate which is enough, to understand the distribution of mining operations at the global and local level, to China.
<h2>Cambridge Study Depends On Assumptions</h2>
The data contributors mining pools provided the details of allocated hashing power to the Cambridge Center for the study. According to that data, an assumption is being made that the distributed hashing power is contemplative of the wider Bitcoin network.

Although the study has some limitations, it clearly demonstrates the locations of major mining operations around the world, and also how it is being distributed.

The study says that China world’s largest Bitcoin mining nation with a total of 65.08 percent hashrate. Other countries involved in mining operations are the US with 7.24 percent, Russia with 6.9 percent, Kazakhstan with 6.17 percent and many more.

The Cambridge Center did this research to get information regarding the distribution of mining operations in major hashing hubs.

According to the study, Xinjiang is the leading province of China for carrying out mining operation, with 35.76 percent hashrate. Other cities of China like Sichuan, Nei Mongol, Yunnan and Beijing have the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/what-is-bitcoin-mining/">largest mining</a> operations. Some cities of China are accountable for less than 1 percent of the total hashrate of the country.
