CleanSpark, an advanced software solutions company, focused on solving modern energy challenges has <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/cleanspark-agrees-to-acquire-bitcoin-miner-atl-data-center-301190492.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">announced</a> on acquiring U.S. Bitcoin miner ALT Data Centers for $19.4 million in common shares. The move behind the acquisition includes utilizing CleanSpark’s technology at the ATL facility for energy savings, expansion of power capacity, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The acquisition will result in multiple bitcoins being produced daily at some of the lowest energy costs in the country.
<h2><b>CleanSpark to Acquire Bitcoin Miner ATL Data Center </b></h2>
As of now, the ATL data center has over 3,471 <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/is-bitcoin-mining-profitable-in-2020-here-is-what-you-need-to-know/">bitcoin mining units</a> with a combined hashrate of 190 petahash per second (PH/s). With the installation of CleanSpark’s new rigs, the bitcoin mining facility will see an increase in mining capacity between 0.9 and 1.4 exahash per second (EH/s).

In an official press release, <strong>Matthew Schultz</strong>, CleanSpark's Executive Chairman said:

<em>"We will certainly be the only microgrid company that owns and controls the distributed energy supply to its own mining activities, in furtherance of developing our best-in-class technologies. Our efforts will demonstrate to potential clients in this space an easily transferable, low risk for execution model that can quickly enhance their bottom line."</em>

The firm said it will demonstrate that its microgrid software can significantly reduce the cost of energy to below $0.0285 per kw/h. The mining facility will eventually feature real-time web-based analytics for power viewing and dollar savings generated by CleanSpark.
<h2><strong>Acquisition Has Enabled Further Expansion</strong></h2>
CleanSpark will now have 23 mobile mining rigs in addition to its main facility. According to the firm, the acquisition has enabled the expansion of its operation on a larger scale.

CEO of CleanSpark, Zachary Bradford, commented:

<em>"As part of the ATL complex, we now have 23 such mobile mining rigs in addition to the main facility. This acquisition enables us to take our prior designs and expand upon them at a much greater scale.  We believe today's transaction allows us to obtain a significant and rapid return on our investment while further validating our energy technologies."</em>

If the initiative turns out to be successful deploying, the model will be taken to other sites, especially those where there are significantly higher energy costs.
