IBM, a tech giant, aims to launch a blockchain-based app called IBM Digital Health Pass. This move is initiated by the firm to support the organizations and companies who are planning to reopen post lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This app will be launched by the healthcare-focused arm of this tech giant. Through the app, people will be able to return to physical encounters safely.
This App by IBM Will Help to Verify Health Status
The healthcare arm of the firm, IBM Watson Health stated that this blockchain-based app will be able to deploy different data types in it. This includes the COVID-19 test results, temperature scans, and a few others. People will be able to get their verified health status onsite with the help of this app.
Once getting a verified health status, people will be able to enter public locations safely without causing trouble to anyone. It is also mentioned that IBM Digital Pass is designed in such a way that it protects the privacy of the users. Users will be able to share the data without revealing any underlying information to that.
Highly Committed to the User’s Privacy
According to one of the executives of IBM, trust and transparency are on the top priority of the firm while developing a digital health passport. Blockchain is going to play an important role in this as it will ensure transparency along with maintaining the privacy of the users.
The firm is highly committed to supporting the organizations and companies during this ongoing global health crisis. It seems highly committed to helping people out during this crisis as earlier also, it has developed the Rapid Supply Connect network which helped the suppliers to connect with the public in providing relief supplies. Now, this step of launching an app will be another great step by the firm during this crisis.
