IP Australia, an Australian government agency from the Department of Industry, Innovation, and Science has recently <a href="https://www.google.co.in/amp/s/www.nrl.com/news/2020/08/10/teaming-up-with-the-nrl-to-tackle-counterfeit-goods/Amp/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">teamed</a> up with National Rugby League (NRL). This partnership has been formed to conduct trials for a new digital app which is meant for eliminating counterfeits. 

In this trial, NRL Shop and Savvy Supporter will be having a trust badge. This badge will be given to show that the firm has been verified for its authenticity by IP Australia. Karen Andrews, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology has said that with this, they will be able to fight against piracy and counterfeiting. She has also said that as there is a huge demand for Australian products in the market, the government will go through different measures to protect the businesses.
<h2>Trust Badge, part of Smart TradeMark Platform by IP Australia </h2>
The trust badge that will be given to NRL is a part of the Smart Trademark platform by IP Australia. This is there to authenticate different services and products of various trademark owners. The government believes that this new digital app will be used across the huge range of Australian made products. This will also work towards applying different practical ways to grow the complete economy. 
<h2>NRL fans will be able to authenticate products</h2>
Shaun McMartin, the general manager of NRL has said that all the fans will be able to authenticate their products. This will be made possible through the trust badge given by IP Australia. 

The Australian agency is also partnering with many different government agencies of the country for the trails of Smart Trademark. These kinds of trials are also going along with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation and the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation. This is to check the traceability and verification of the food supply chains. The agency has started using blockchain for authentication, back in 2018 and since then it is regularly expanding its operations.
