Justin Sun Announces an ‘Anon Project Launch’ on June 8, Community Not Impressed

Justin Sun, the founder of the Tron network is probably one of the most disliked personalities in the crypto space, primarily because of his unnecessary brand plugins and cringy promotion tactics. Today he announced that they would be announcing a new ‘exciting project’ on June 8th and asked his twitter followers to guess what could be the possible upcoming project.

The Crypto Twitter was not amused to see Justin Sun doing what he is infamous for, and criticized him for creating unnecessary hype. One Twitter wrote,

“You need to stop with the announcements. Just wait. You’ve used your announcement of an announcement card way too many times.”

While another user sarcastically commented,

“I really missed your announcements about future announcements! This is so exciting!!!”

As it is evident from the comments and given Sun’s past track record, it is time that Sun curbs his unnecessary project hypes and find better PR tactics. Recently he was in hot waters for allegedly rigging his own Twitter poll he conducted to hype Tron 4.0 against Ethereum 2.0 network upgrade.

Tron was first launched on the Ethereum platform and later shifted to their own blockchain, and since then the network has tried to create a rivalry of the sort given both are invested in a decentralized ecosystem comprising of Dapp platforms, heavy smart contract use and now Tron is also planning to launch its own Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol after the success of Ethereum’s Defi ecosystem.

In the beginning, Tron’s efforts to one-up Ethereum was appreciated by the community as competition led to better products, however, Sun’s heavy PR tactics have started to backfire. Be it the infamous Warren Buffet lunch or his Chinese Twitter account being suspended. Sun’s latest acquisition of Steem also ran into a heavy controversy where Steem alleged Sun was trying to intervene in their decentralized governance process and it also led to the hardfork of the Steem blockchain.

It would be interesting to see what the actual project is that is currently being hyped and whether it would be able to swing some public sentiment in Sun’s favour.
