Kryptoin Investment Advisors has filed a proposal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch an Ether (ETH) exchange-traded fund (ETF). The filing comes nearly two years after the investment firm first filed to launch a Bitcoin ETF back in October 2019.

According to an Aug. 12 <a href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001877610/000157587221000189/es004_s1.htm" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">filing</a>, investment firm Kryptoin Investment Advisors intends to provide exposure to the second-largest cryptocurrency by relying on the CF Ether-Dollar US Settlement Price.

If approved, Kryptoin’s Ethereum ETF will trade on the Chicago Board Options Exchange’s (Cboe) BZX Exchange and will value them by the CF Ether-Dollar U.S. Settlement Price, which is an “independently calculated value based on an aggregation of executed trade flow of major ETH spot exchanges.”

Meanwhile, custody for the Ethereum will be provided by Gemini Trust Company.
<h2><strong>SEC Yet to Approve Any Crypto ETFs in the U.S. </strong></h2>
Kryptoin is the third issuer to file for an Ethereum ETF this year, following <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/vaneck-files-application-for-a-bitcoin-strategy-etf-with-the-sec/">VanEck</a> and New York-based <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/wisdomtree-files-with-the-sec-for-an-ethereum-etf/">Wisdom Tree investments</a> in filing for an ETF that offers ETH exposure.

According to James Seyffart, an ETF analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, there have been 21 crypto ETF filings this year.

Kryptoin previously tried and failed to get a Bitcoin ETF back in 2019. However, the firm filed for another Bitcoin ETF this April that was set for a verdict by July 27 but is still under review by the SEC. The new filing includes Gemini as the product’s custodian and Cboe BZX as its intended exchange.

Meanwhile, the SEC is yet to approve any Bitcoin ETF in the United States to date. However, In a public note published on Apr. 22, the SEC announced that it had started reviewing the amended proposal.
