Prof. Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) while speaking at the Investiture Ceremony of Engr. King Olusegun Adeyemi, has stated that the Nigerian Institute of<a href="https://guardian.ng/business-services/danbatta-tasks-electrical-electronic-engineers-on-emerging-technologies/"> Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE)</a> should embrace the emerging technologies such as<a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/one-time-members-of-fatf-get-into-the-blockchain-technology/"> Blockchain</a>, Internet of Things,<a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/china-plans-to-integrate-blockchain-and-artificial-intelligence-for-cross-border-financing/"> Artificial Intelligence</a>, Cloud Computing and the Big Data.
<h2>Telecommunication and ICT Industry Are Fast Changing</h2>
According to Danbatta, telecommunications and ICT were the industries that could change fastly. He also mentioned that those industries also needed continuous professional development to cooperate with the changes in the industry.

Danbatta stated that the electrical and electronics engineers help the telecom industry to create a technical framework for it while taking into notice, the evolving technologies and operational models. Danbatta also appreciated the work of NCC and said that because of it the Adeyemi got an opportunity to attend several training programs not only locally but also internationally. 
<h2>World Turns Smarter</h2>
At the event, while embracing the digital era, Danbatta said that in this era everything, whether it was TV, Homes, Cities, Network, World or even people, was turning smart and therefore, it was considered as more resourceful and relevant era. According to him, in the future the world would continue to be smarter, therefore, the engineers should embrace their self-development. 

Danbatta also mentioned, 
<blockquote>“Under this administration, we shall extend our horizon to other professional associations. We shall improve our relationship with other professional organizations so that longtime professional barriers that had hindered our collective advancements are removed. In as much as this is desired, we shall not compromise our goals and visions for networking purpose, rather we shall leverage on the common goals of these associations.”</blockquote>
Later, at an event, a UK-based University lecturer, Dr Mohammed Nagla has also urged NIEEE that it should continue to update its skill so that it could maintain its pace in technological advancement.
