RSM, the fifth-largest accounting firm in the United States (US) has <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200409005514/en/RSM-Selects-Lukka-Preferred-Provider-Crypto-Tax" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shortlisted</a> Lukka, a tax service company which has a blockchain-native software, to provide them with a crypto taxation software.
<h2>RSM Deal With Lukka</h2>
The Lukka Crypto Office and LukkaTax for Professionals software would be given to the tax clients of RSM so that they could help the individuals and enterprises in their tax preparation needs.

The senior manager of international tax and blockchain at RSM, Jamison Sites, mentioned that in the late 2018 and early 2019, the accounting firm held a discussion with the US Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on the crypto tax software, and soon after that the firm started research for various software providers.

Sites stated that after discussion the firm realized, “<a href="https://www.rsm.global/">RSM</a> understood that upcoming IRS guidance would require our digital asset clients to prepare a much more complicated calculation going forward.”
<h2>Lukka Helps RSM Client</h2>
During its research, RSM came to know about Lukka. As the company has a scalable infrastructure and ability to provide highly specialized tax capabilities to its client unique to crypto assets, therefore, the RSM selected it.

Although the partnership discussion between RSM and Lukka started in August 2019, before that in 2018 tax-year, RSM contacted the company to help a client who urgently needed help in calculating crypto trade, worth around $20 million.

The CCO of Lukka, Jeremy Drane stated that since the day RSM contacted Lukka to resolve the crypto tax issue of its client, the firms have been working together.

In March 2020, Lukka Library was introduced. The Library has a huge collection of academic papers which discusses questions related to crypto-assets.

The academic papers in the library cover over 75 topics of legal, accounts and tax which are related to crypto-assets. These papers have been prepared by over two-dozens of academicians and experts from legal from.
