The Regional Tax Office's 4th Bureau of Investigation is held in charge of the investigation. 4th Bureau is popular for conducting investigations into tax <a href="https://www.thebharatexpressnews.com/korean-crypto-investment-firm-hashed-reportedly-under-tax-investigation/">dodging </a>and slush fundraising. On Dec. 7, 2021, reports the local media, "The definite nature of the investigation is yet to be disclosed."

An executive from the regional tax office addressed the reporters saying, "Even if we aren't able to confirm the exact nature of the investigation, we're sure about one argument; i.e., an intense investigation on small businesses without a warning isn't related to slush fundraising or tax evasion on the part of the company's CEO."

The investigation was already initiated in November. The investigation is on the verge of conclusion no later than the end of Feb. 2022; a few days before the South Korean presidential election to be organized on March 9, 2022.

Hashed is a part of South Korea's famous crypto investment firms. It was launched in 2017 by Simon Seokoon Kim, Ethan Kyuntae Kim, and Ryan Sungho Kim. The three personalities are listed as CEO or chief executives of the company.
