GoldenSand Capital, a Hong Kong equity firm, recently <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200421005107/en/GoldenSand-Capital-Completes-tZERO-Equity-Investment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invested</a> $5 million in equity, in tZERO which is a blockchain subsidiary of Overstock.

While discussing the GoldenSand’s investment in tZERO, the chairman of Hong Kong-based equity firm stated, “We plan to continue to collaborate with tZERO on strategic opportunities and are interested in partnering our wealth of industry connections across Asia with tZERO’s tokenization protocol technology”.

Currently, tZERO has not decided how it would use the investment made by the GoldenSand Capital.
<h2>tZERO Can Revolutionalize Capital Market</h2>
The CEO of Overstock, Jonathan Johnson, has stated that for Medici Ventures tZERO is very important, its like a crown jewel. Johnson further mentions that the money raised by tZERO could be used to legally revolutionalize the capital markets by developing a strong ecosystem supported by blockchain technology.

Then the CEO of tZERO, Saum Noursalehi, while appreciating GoldenSand Capital’s action, stated that the equity firm value tZERO and it’s motive too.

tZERO has been planning to use blockchain and smart contract technology to launch greater efficiency and transparency into the capital market.

The blockchain subsidiary of Overstock in January 2020, sent a letter to its investors which states that currently, the launch of the broker-dealer platform is very important for the company, therefore, it has been working very hard for it. It has decided to introduce the platform into the market by June 2020.
<h2>New Security Token Exchange</h2>
The company has also been working with Box Digital Markets to develop a security token exchange i.e., Boston Security Token Exchange (BSTX). A report has stated that the exchange is not able to launch its token because the Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) did not give it the approval.

Recently, the SEC sent a letter to the Box Digital Markets stating that it would need more time for examining BSTX. The agency has to confirm that the security exchange token fulfils all the regulatory requirements of the US Securities Exchange Act 1934.
