An unknown person threatened to blow up the Numata Town Hall office in Japanese Island Hokkaido if they do not pay him the <a href="https://www.fnn.jp/articles/-/67875" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ransom</a> in Bitcoin.

According to FNN, a local news outlet in Japan, a few days ago, a person calls the government office from an unknown number and threatened to bomb the second floor of the building, if it does not pay the ransom in crypto.
<h2>Bombing Threat Via Email</h2>
The report further stated that a week ago, the office even received four ransom emails for the ransom.

On July 29, a person calls the office at 12 at the noon and demands the authority to pay the ransom in Bitcoin otherwise they would blow up the second floor of their building.

As per the report, the caller, while blackmailing the authority, has said, “If you do not respond, a bomb will be placed on the women's toilet on the second floor of the government office, It will explode around noon.”

However, the time for paying the ransom was over and the building didn’t explode. Now the local authority is investigating into this matter and trying to find out the main motive behind this call.
<h2>Is This A Terrorist Threat?</h2>
This is for the first time a person has given a life threat to anyone for cryptos. There have been many cases where the scammers demanded one crypto and promise to return it double. Even the Twitter scam which happened at the starting of July, stolen the Bitcoins in the same manner. In those kinds of scams, no one had to be worried about their lives. But this recent scam, which took place in Japan, appears like a terrorist threat.

A same kind of incident occurred in Ukraine recently, where the person demanded others to pay him a ransom of 50 Bitcoins, otherwise, he threatened to blow up a building in Kyiv. 

As the investigation is still on, the local authorities have arrested two people, who are alleged to be a part of it.
