Samsung has listed 17 crypto apps in its blockchain keystore. The changes will see an addition from the original four dapps in the store. Note that Samsung launched the blockchain keystore online app store 5 months ago in march, 2019. The opening apps included a billing application, a password wallet, a social media application and a game. The over a dozen apps comprise of a plethora of products including a social media app, entertainment app e.t.c.

Samsung is among the first major firms to develop crypto related applications. Especially, a move that was marked by the release of Galaxy S10 this year.  Samsung announced they were the first Smartphone company to build a blockchain wallet. The company has built its wallet in order to gain traction in market competition.

Nevertheless, the wallet will allow storage of<a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/ethereum-weekly-update/"> ETH based</a> tokens (ERC-20) and protocols. In the smartphone race to crypto, Samsung’s main competitor is <a href="https://www.theblockcrypto.com/tiny/apple-set-to-introduce-cryptokit-in-ios-13/">Apple which is yet to launch its crypto</a> in the course of the year. Apple launched a CryptoKit for its operating system (IOS 13)- signifying that adoption looms around the corner.

Another major Samsung competitor, China’s <a href="https://www.huawei.com/en/press-events/news/2019/7/huawei-announces-h1-2019-revenue">Huawei announced</a> it would not be integrating any crypto wallet to its smartphones mainly because their dont have authorization from the Chinese government.

 Unfortunately, Samsung’s blockchain efforts are facing a slow kick off with only 30 reviews for the blockchain wallet. While on the other hand some crypto wallets on Google’s Play Store have thousands of reviews. Early last month, another tech giant, LG ThinQ Wallet trademarked. Most market experts believe that the ThinQ project roots the foundation of crypto wallet. The LG-ThinQ trademark will provide transactions, emoney services and settlement.
