The official Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) Instagram account has reportedly been hacked. BAYC tweeted that it 'looks like' the account was hacked and warned users not to mint anything, click on any links, or connect their wallets.

The hack comes after the NFT collection’s Discord channel was hacked on 1 April. According to experts, a ticket tool used to verify users was undermined. The nature of this latest hack is unclear as no further information has been given by either BAYC or Yuga Labs.

The hackers may have been targeting followers anticipating the Otherside metaverse NFT release. The release is set to take place on 30 April and will feature NFTs from BAYC Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) and other collections.

Some Twitter users criticized BAYC for the breach, commenting that the Discord hack should have been warning enough to secure their socials. There are also several others claiming to have lost NFTs although none of this has been verified.
