According to the CEO of a popular exchange platform, Binance, Changpeng Zhao, the DPRK group who carried out a cyberattack on <a href="https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/04/08/axie-infinity-builder-takes-full-responsibility-for-625m-ronin-hack-exec-says/%3foutputType=amp">Axie Infinity</a> last month that led to millions of dollars being lost has moved some of the funds to Binance. Zhao noted that the hackers spread the funds to about 86 different accounts on the platform.

However, using blockchain technology, the exchange could trace the sources of the funds and have recovered about $5.8 million. Zhao stated that the company has done similar operations in the past and will continue to ensure that the crypto space is safe for crypto investors.
<h3>The Axie Infinity Hack</h3>
The hack, which took place towards the end of last month, saw over $625 million stolen from the platform. However, the company behind the Axie Infinity game, Sky Mavis, promised to refund gamers who were affected by the loss. Also, the security officials of the United States connected the attack to a "<a href="https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2022/04/14/us-officials-tie-north-korean-hacker-group-to-axies-ronin-exploit/?_gl=1*i2fv7x*_ga*UVdzUWdNazBfZG5HaGRpU1R1aDBGUXRPek5NbElyU2dHNHF2NkF2dVktWVFBd2xWVXB1YUwwaGc2N3dlMlQ5cg..">Lazarus group</a>" in North Korea, where over 148,000 ETH were held in a wallet address as found on Ronin Bridge Exploiter, an Ethereum tracking platform.

Before now, the hackers have tried using Tornado Cash, a privacy tool to convert the stolen funds into digital currencies such as Ether, and were able to move millions of dollars to a different account. As of writing, the address holds over $285 million worth of digital assets.
<h3>Binance Continues Meltdown On Fraudsters</h3>
In 2020, <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/crypto-giant-binance-to-perform-wallet-maintenance-on-multiple-networks">Binance</a>, in conjunction with Ukraine's cyber police, was able to identify a criminal organization that had laundered over $42 million worth of crypto. The crypto firm noted that it Will continue to upgrade its system and has a Binance Sentry Team to track all funds entering and leaving the platform.
