On October 2, 2019, BitPay, the global blockchain payment services provider, has <a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2019/10/02/1924157/0/en/BitPay-Announces-Plans-to-Support-XRP-for-Payment-Processing-and-Cross-Border-Transfers.html">announced</a> a new partnership with Ripple, to use their Spring project that will expand XPR payments into Bitpay’s business processing and cross-border platform.
The partnership will see businesses be able to transact with XRP on a secure, safe and regulatory- compliant BitPay platform, by the last quarter of 2019.

Ripple uses its digital asset <a href="https://www.ripple.com/xrp/">XRP</a>, to allow users to trade, store send and buy things from vendors that accept BitPay as financial software builder Ripple enables institutions to access frictionless cross-border payments.
<h2>BitPay and Ripple XRP Partnership</h2>
BitPay payment services offer their customers with a BitPay Wallet and BitPay Prepaid cardholders. This partnership will enable businesses and merchants on BitPay platform to hold and transact ripple tokens. Bitpay’s Director of Product, Sean Rolland, stated:
“BitPay customers are leveraging the promise of blockchain payment technology and with XRP can offer a payment option that is fast, cost-effective and scalable. The addition of XRP as the next blockchain asset supported by BitPay expands blockchain choices across the payments space.”
Ripple will benefit from this partnership by building Internet Of Value( IoV) and funds transfer as fast as information transfer on the internet. Ripples' new developer platform, Spring will make it super easy for individuals and businesses to integrate the services.
The <a href="https://www.ripple.com/insights/welcome-to-xpring/">Spring</a> initiative by Ripple is the open platform for money that provides developer tools services and programs to integrate money in apps. Ripple stated:
