According to Bluesky, the AT Protocol would operate on a federated network, a network configuration with centralized management systems that distribute common resources over diverse linked networks or locations. Bluesky cited an analysis where several websites run the protocol, and consumers can select from different providers to illustrate the network concept. Alternatively, individuals or companies might decide to self-host.
