Bakkt has announced plans to roll out its initial round of regulated options contract for BTC futures by DEC 9. The futures platform announced the developments on October 24. 

The options contract on Bakkt platform will feature; cash/physical settlement, low fees , instant messaging, optional analytics, capital efficiency and  block trades. Meanwhile, the new options product is on the basis of customer feedback. Bakkt’s CEO Kelly Loeffler explained that the options contract is designed to gain bitcoin exposure or to hedge. In fact, note that a European style option is an option contract that; reduces operational burdens and limits the opportunity for early execution. 
<h2>An Option for $1.25</h2>
Additionally, Kelly highlighted in the October 24 announcement, that Bakkt options contract is designed on the basis of the Bakkt monthly bitcoin futures contract. Which is a key <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/breaking-binance-to-offer-futures-contract-trading-ceo-cz-announces/">Bitcoin Futures Contract</a> launched alongside the Daily Bitcoin Futures of Sep 22. Particularly, Bakkt will charge $1.25 for each options contract beginning January 2020.  A stage it will attain once it debuts the options with a fee waiver come December, noted Kelly. 

The announcement follows shortly after Bitcoin Futures Volumes on Bakkt hit a fresh all time high of at least 452 BTC futures contracts. In addition, Bitcoin’s price met an abrupt crash by $500 within a meagre five minutes.This was after trading around $7,800 - $8000 over the course of the previous week. Bakkt stated:

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) initiated the first block trade for Bakkt Bitcoin Futures Contracts in early October. ICE is the governing body for the <a href="https://www.forbes.com/pictures/eddk45iglh/new-york-stock-exchange/">New York Stock Exchange </a>(NYSE). Kelly also noted in the recent announcement, that the Bakkt Bitcoin options Contract will have block trades via an ICE Block.
