However, the press release earlier reported that on February 8, Morgan and her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, were charged with allegedly laundering $4.5 billion in Bitcoin stolen from the cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex. For their charges of conspiracy to commit financial fraud and defraud the United States, Morgan and Lichtenstein may get up to 25 years in prison. However, the two were freed on a combined bail of $8 million.
