The results would be stored in the app anonymously, and if in future they want to share that result with any healthcare provider then the users can do that too.
Both the companies are planning to launch the app in April 2020, and along with it, the Genobank.io will also launch its own new token.
The entire infrastructure of the collaboration includes a mobile app, a processing interface for laboratories, a privacy-ensuring blockchain architecture, and low-cost COVID-19 tests and processing.
The app which would be developed by Telos Foundation and Genobank.io, help the users to find the COVID-19 testing kits.
According to the report, while taking the test the user would have to scan the unique barcode appear on the app and then link it with an anonymous account on the blockchain platform. The test results would be saved on the network.
The report further states that as the researchers would also have access to the network, therefore, they would be able to see the aggregated data of victims and the geographic information to keep a track on the disease. While the research process would be on, the users still have control of their data.
Recently, Douglas Horn, the developer and whitepaper author of the Telos blockchain, said, “This project is a remarkable example of how individuals from around the world can come together to increase the tools we have to address global problems. Increasingly, we will see grassroots teams such as this rapidly providing solutions that governments cannot.”
In regard to the app the CEO of Genobank.io, Daniel Uribe, said that it is the right of people to know if they are suffering from COVID-19 or not, without sacrificing their privacy.
The report mentions that the Agerona dapp will have a feature that would allow the user to record a sound clip of their cough and then submit it, to get help.
