The open-source <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/list-of-top-blockchain-development-companies-to-watchout-for-in-2020/">blockchain platform</a>, Wave has <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/wavesexchange-launches-charity-campaign-to-fight-covid-19-301035209.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">introduced</a> a charity campaign to raise money for COVID-19 relief. While the fund is being raised on the platform, it would develop a tokenized parimutuel betting pool for the users, so that, they could guess whether the coronavirus cases in a given week is going to rise or fall.

The Wave started the charity campaign on April 03, 2020, to help those organization and funds who are in need of financial aid, in fighting the global COVID-19 pandemic.
<h2>Neutrino Dollar To Be Used As Rewards</h2>
Wave.Exchange has released two tokens for its users i.e., COVID-DWN and COVID-UP. The users are allowed to buy any of these tokens to figure out, within a week whether the confirmed cases of COVID-19 has increased or decreased, globally.

According to a report, in exchange for Neutrino Dollar (USDN), a stablecoin which is pegged to the US dollar, the users could buy the tokens. The USDN collected in exchange for Tokens are stored in escrow. These stored USDN, at the end of every week, are distributed to the winning users as a reward.
<h2>Confirmed COVID-19 Data Will Be Collected From Data Repository’s Oracle</h2>
A report, while explaining the charitable component to the parimutel pool, stated, 
<blockquote>“winners will be granted valuable prizes or can share their winnings for charity purposes and all additional proceeds of the campaign will be donated to non-profit organizations.”</blockquote>
Wave.Exchange would collect the data of confirmed COVID-19 cases via Data Repository’s oracles. The oracles, which have been developed by Johns Hopkins CSSE, get this information from the World Health Organisation (WHO) in real-time.

On the one hand, the crypto-community has come together against coronavirus and has started an initiative. On the other hand, just for the marketing purpose, some of the actors have suggested invoking COVID-19.

A few days ago, HashCash Consultants also decided to issue Corona Fund Index <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/difference-between-coins-and-tokens/">Cryptocurrency tokens</a>.
