Gemini and Nifty founding billionaires Winkelvoss Twins are now proud owners of a virtual estate in ‘The Sandbox’, an NFT-based metaverse of a digital game. What’s even more interesting is that Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss are now virtual neighbors of the heavy metal band ‘Avenged Sevenfold’. Who wouldn’t want punk rock musicians for their neighbors?

The forthcoming Ethereum-based game smooths the way for the digital game lovers, who can now deploy their own interactive game using the digital LAND. The Sandbox, a blocky shared 3D world reveals its selling of virtual and Non-Fungible Token, NFT properties to a range of interested investors.

Gaming centric arm of Mike Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital investment firm, Galaxy Interactive, is also in the queue alongside investor Bill Lee of 21x, Sundeep Madra,  Ken Howery, and many other billionaire founders. The name of Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss also comes while talking about cryptocurrency exchange Gemini and its Nifty Gateway while talking about the leaders of the list.

Each mentioned has purchased some amount of the Sandbox’s in-game LAND, which is part of the shared in-game map.

In a release, Tyler Winklevoss said that they plan to “extend our existing platforms into The Sandbox and develop unique experiences on our properties that advance our mission of empowering the individual through crypto.”

The Next Public Land Sale of The Sandbox

The Sandbox game has attracted diverse partnerships like Care Bears, Atari, The Smurfs, Square Enix, and Binance. A broad mix of brands and individual LAND collectors are alike in the Metaverse. While the buyers will soon get another chance to purchase some digital real estate.

Announcing its next public LAND sale on 14th April, the Sandbox plotted the “premium” LAND near the newly revealed partners. Each piece of LAND comes with “exclusive premium NFTs” that allows owners to create their in-game locations and experiences.

The first public LAND sale was held in the second month of the year. Following the waves of pre-sales, The Sandbox sold more than $3million worth of LAND only in February.

The market price of LAND has folded eight times, since the start of February. Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, Sébastien Borget, mentioned that “the recent NFT boom has driven demand for the game.”
