SBI Remit Partners With Hamamatsu Iwata Bank for RippleNet Remittances

SBI Remit, a subsidiary of Japanese financial services giant Strategic Business Innovator(SBI) Group, has announced a partnership with Hamamatsu Iwata Bank to develop a RippleNet-based international remittances platform. The venture is expected to commence services from July 12 and address the growing need for remittances among foreign residents in Japan.

 

Robinhood Slapped With $70 Million Record Penalty by FINRA

The  Financial Industry Regulatory Authority(FINRA) has slapped Robinhood with roughly $70 million in penalties for “systemic supervisory failures” that hurt investors by giving them misleading information. The penalty levied by FINRA covers the system-wide outages experienced by Robinhood in March 2020 as well as the options trading procedures and distribution of misleading information on margin trading.

Twitter Inc. is making a foray into NFTs, or non fungible tokens with 140 new assets that will be offered in a giveaway. The San Francisco-based tech behemoth posted seven different NFTs on the digital asset marketplace Rarible. It said that there are 20 versions of each NFT and users interested in acquiring them should show up on Rarible or Twitter’s company account.

 

Expert Panel on Crypto Expects the Price of Ethereum to Reach $20K by 2025

In a recent poll conducted by well-known Australian news source Finder, Panelists said that they estimated the average price of Ethereum to be $4,512 by the end of the year. This is a 234% raise over the end-of-year forecast of $1,351 in December.

 

Katy Perry to Launch First-Ever NFT Collection with Theta Labs

 

Pop singer Katy Perry has announced the launch of her first-ever NFT collectibles in partnership with Theta Labs. Perry has also added that she will acquire a minority stake in Theta as part of the deal. The NFTs have been derived from Perry’s “Play” residency, which will see the singer perform at 16 shows in Las Vegas from December 2021 onwards.
