Cashfusion is a new protocol whose developer claimed that it is one of the best privacy protocol currently available in the market. James Waugh, a data analyst on Jan 29, decided to test the anonymity of Cashfusion protocol. After thoroughly examining numerous transaction input and output, waugh realised that it was not possible to establish a solid link between the transactions. According to the analyst, Cashfusion purports anonymity and doesn’t require equal payment amounts. Waugh said as some people in the crypto community were in doubt about the protocol and the claims made by the developers, he set to test the protocol by linking transactions input and output value to prove that it’s a real transaction.

While cracking Cashfusion, Waugh tried to find some matches in the transactions leveraging an integer programming solver. He said that he repeated the process for each and every transaction, including all inputs and outputs but didn’t found any proof of actual transaction.

In his blog, Waugh asked himself if the matched inputs and outputs can be verified anyway as true payments and explained it to be not possible.
