Users of cryptocurrency exchange 'Coinbase' along with crypto data supplier 'CoinMarketCap' witnessed the biggest glitch on Tuesday afternoon. They scanned their accounts and detected an enormous gain. A few of these users already believed in themselves becoming millionaires, until the companies declared on social media that it was a mere glitch.

On Twitter, Coinbase admitted, "Few of the customers examined 'inflated values' after social media users<a href="https://mashable.com/article/coinbase-glitch-cryptocurrency-billionaires" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"> announced </a>massive cryptocurrency gains. This announcement led to the projection of their assets into the millions around 4 p.m. EST."

Coinbase said, "The crash was a mere issue which didn't impact trading a much." The issue was resolved on the website around 5:30 p.m. EST and its <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/coinbase-acquires-israeli-cryptographic-security-firm-unbound/">Coinbase</a> Wallet app at around 6:30 p.m. EST.

On Twitter, CoinMarketCap accepted, "We quickly resolved the incorrect price information on our website."

Having said that, neither of the companies uttered a word proclaiming the reason behind the issue when Forbes has gotten to them for comment. This issue came forth a week back when some Coinbase users instigated a campaign exerting the company to deliver refunds after a crash in the system in mid-November. This glitch chained a few customers out of their accounts, obstructing them to trade for weeks.
