CoinList, a cryptocurrency startup has just <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/bitcoin-advocate-jack-dorsey-backs-crypto-startup-coinlist-11572418802">announced</a> its plans to launch a cryptocurrency exchange platform and a wallet after receiving a direct investment from Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. The firm raised a total of $10 million in the funding round. It has operated on the market since 2017.

Moreover, Dorsey who is well known as a Bitcoin and <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/blockchain-firm-casperlabs-raises-145-million-in-series-a-funding/">Blockchain</a> advocate has injected an undisclosed amount in the startup. Ideally, CoinList is a platform where other startups raise capital through methods such as token sales, airdrops, and hackathons. CoinList received backing from investment firms such as Polychain Capital when it rose over $9 million in its maiden funding round back in 2017.

Additionally, Dorsey commented on his decision to back CoinList:

<strong>“Crypto needs a trustworthy platform for launching new projects. CoinList leads the industry in that role, and trading is a logical next step.”</strong>

In addition, since its establishment, it has supported tokens sale worth over $800 million. CoinList claims to be an SEC-compliant ICO exchange platform.

Notably, the firm vet's cryptocurrency and Blockchain startups to help run ICOs and connect them to accredited investors. CoinList offers its services both to private and public token offerings.

Specifically, some of the most notable ICO listings by the firm include Filecoin and Blockstack. The most recent Blockstack token sale is the first ever SEC-qualified token offering conducted under Regulation A.

Since 2017, the SEC has become stricter on ICOs labeling most of them as securities. The regulatory commission fined some. Some commentators have called for more nuanced securities regulations for cryptocurrencies in the United States.

Notably, Dorsey has remained a vocal advocate for Bitcoin and happenings in the cryptocurrency industry. However, the social media giant’s chief has claimed he has no intentions of creating a cryptocurrency like Facebook’s Libra. Instead, Dorsey has declared his belief in Bitcoin’s future.
