Japanese crypto exchange, Liquid Global, has <a href="https://twitter.com/Liquid_Global/status/1428176357515612165?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1428176358996279297%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es2_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fcointelegraph.com%2Fnews%2Fbreaking-liquid-exchange-hacked-to-the-tune-of-80-million" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">reportedly</a> removed digital assets worth over $80 million after confirming a security breach in a tweet shared on August 19. In response to this, KuCoin has blacklisted the addresses that received stolen funds.
<h2>Liquid Global Hacked, Digital Assets Worth $80 Million Moved off the Platform</h2>
Liquid Global is based in Japan, and in an August 19 tweet, the exchange confirmed that there has been a security breach.

The exchange noted additionally that only its warm wallets were affected, and that its assets are currency being moved into cold storage wallet.

In addition to this, it should be noted that the Liquid Global exchange has reportedly suspended withdrawals and deposits on its platform and will be providing regular updates as its investigations unfold. 

As for the theft, the officials are yet to confirm the exact data, however, it has been revealed that over 107 BTC, 11,000,000 XRP, 9,000,000 TRX, and ETH worth around $60 million, have been taken by the hackers.

Back in the month of April, Celsius, the crypto yield provider, made an announcement that it had integrated with Liquid in order to offer customers of the exchange a compounding return on asset <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/celsius-ceo-believes-this-bull-market-different-from-previous-one/">purchases</a>.

The announcement additionally noted that Liquid became one of the first fiat-to-crypto currency exchanges to support the native CEL token of Celsius in 2019.

Moreover, the announcement stated that the two companies have continued to increase their partnership since then.

KuCoin, another <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/kucoin-identifies-the-culprit-behind-multi-million-dollar-breach/">exchange</a>, as revealed earlier, responded to the recently conducted hack by blacklisting all the addresses that are linked with the hack.

Jonny Lyu, the CEO of the exchange, shared this information by releasing a tweet on August 19.

Also, another fact that Liquid Global is not facing this breach for the first time can not be ignored. Back in November 2018, Liquid suffered a breach that witnessed the personal information of the users getting exposed to hackers, possibly including their names, addresses, and even passwords.
