Former Federal Reserve Governor, Kevin Warsh, is the latest guest to talk about Bitcoin on <a href="https://twitter.com/SquawkCNBC/status/1346801384331636738" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">CNBC's Squawk Box</a> with host Andrew Ross Sorkin. Warsh mentions in his interview that investing in Bitcoin makes total sense in the current economic environment amid a weakening dollar. He believes that part of the current inflows of funds into bitcoin comes from gold, even adding that the cryptocurrency is the new gold for those under 40.
<h2>If You Are Under 40, Bitcoin Is Your New Gold: Kevin Warsh</h2>
At one time, Warsh had been quite skeptical on Bitcoin. With the recent surge of the crypto market, the governor seems to have taken a turn around on the crypto asset and a changing notion towards the regulatory side. Adding Bitcoin to one’s investment portfolio now makes sense according to the former federal reserve governor.

Warsh believes that Bitcoin will most likely take up a <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/bitcoin-can-soar-up-to-100000-by-2021-heres-why/">large percentage of the gold market</a>, particularly from those among the younger investors, saying:

“If Bitcoin never existed, gold would be rallying even more right now. But I guess if you’re under 40, Bitcoin is your new gold.”

Warsh's further seems to be not surprised by the current market performance of Bitcoin:

“I think that bitcoin does make sense as part of a portfolio in this environment where you have the most fundamental shift in monetary policy since Paul Volcker ... I’m not surprised bitcoin is doing what it is doing.”
<h2>Bitcoin Appealing Among Conservative Institutions</h2>
Warsh’s regulatory shift on the centralized system comes amid the Fed’s decision on spending stimulus packages that will ultimately lead towards inflation. According to him, weak monetary policies make people appeal to those outside of the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/us-reaches-agreement-on-stimulus-deal-bitcoin-still-at-all-time-high/">centralized banking system</a> such as gold or Bitcoin.

Bitcoin’s appeal as a monetary asset continues to spread among some of the most conservative institutions. For instance, in December, a 169-year-old life insurance firm MassMutual bought <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/btc-soars-high-as-massmutual-invests-100-million-in-bitcoin/">$100 million in Bitcoin</a>.
