According to the latest weekly report from <a href="https://insights.glassnode.com/the-week-onchain-week-40-2021/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Glassnode</a>, large transactions are becoming increasingly dominant on the Bitcoin network signaling that whales and institutional investors are showing an increased interest in the flagship cryptocurrency.

The trading volume has surged back recently after plunging down during the month of June and staying low ever since. With the recent high volumes, it shows that there is a lot of interest in the flagship cryptocurrency recently.

Data indicates that transactions of size higher than $10 million have become increasingly dominant recently when such wasn’t the case during the bull run in the first half of the year. Such large transactions mostly belong to whales, institutional investors, trading desks, and other high-worth entities.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin’s price is trading at around $51,477, up from 25% in the last seven days.
<h2><strong>Big Tech Corporations Behind BTC Rally</strong></h2>
As Bitcoin price went surging, the Coinbase premium, an indicator showing the gap between Coinbase’s BTC/U.S. dollar (USD) pair and Binance’s BTC/USDT went negative at 14:45 UTC last Friday, according to on-chain data site CryptoQuant, as bitcoin’s price started surging.

While Coinbase is more popular among crypto traders in the U.S. and Europe, Binance, which started in China, is a popular exchange among traders in Asia.

Not long after the drop, the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/coinbase-all-the-nine-yards-of-crypto-trading/">Coinbase</a> premium also went positive on CryptoQuant’s site, an indication that some trading bots may have captured the widened gap between Coinbase’s BTC/USD pair and Binance’s BTC/USDT for arbitrage opportunities.

While it remains unclear as to what triggered the sudden demand for Bitcoin. According to market analysts, institutional investors, bitcoin whales have shown a more bullish view on cryptocurrency as markets welcome a new quarter on the financial calendar.
