A new partnership between MyEtherWallet (MEW) and Draper Associates backed Unstoppable Domains; will enable MEW users to send and receive ETH and ERC-20 tokens making use of Unstoppable Domain’s human-readable email-like address. These will be easier to memorize than the 42-figures public key.
Moving forward, the distinctive addresses can be generated on the Crypto-wallet in the form of “[name].crypto.” This new feature is powered by the San Francisco-based blockchain registry startup, Unstoppable Domains.
“Blockchain domains enhance the payment experience for cryptocurrency users. Our collaboration with MEW allows users to replace complicated crypto addresses with human-readable names. This is an important step towards onboarding the next billion people into cryptocurrency,” said Unstoppable e Domains CEO Mathew Gould.
Unstoppable Domains Supports a Range of Crypto-Wallets
In addition, the U.S-based blockchain registry start-up has fused its “.crypto” into almost 15 different wallet applications. These include Zilpay, IM Token, Coinomi, Amb, Trust wallet and many others.
As a consequence of the new partnership with MyEtherWallet, Unstoppable Domains will now offer its already existing partners MEW tools such as token swaps and the MakerDAO DeFi portal.
In particular, a user types a receivers ‘.crypto’ address into MyEtherWallet; it automatically probes the Ethereum network; for the particular address lodged to that domain and loads the address. In addition, the domains also function as designations for Ethereum-based websites. Indeed, the do not require regular renewal like regular domains.
Furthermore, MEW CEO added that the new feature will enable a more ‘easier and friendlier’ user experience. Additionally, he claimed that the new initiative will make it harder for users to send funds to the wrong addresses.
In conclusion, Unstoppable Domain’s “.crypto” domains are endorsed as highly safe websites on Ethereum. They are decentralized entities hence, they do not require consent from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
