A never-heard-before recording of Whitney Houston has just been sold as a non-fungible token (NFT) for $999,999 through NFT marketplace OneOf. The song was recorded when Houston was 17 but was never released.
<h2><strong>Unreleased Whitney Houston Song Auctioned as NFT</strong></h2>
NFT platform OneOf announced that the unreleased full-length song recording would be up for auction earlier in December during its two-day immersive art, music, and NFT experience during Miami Art Week. The audio recording finally coming nine years after the legendary singer’s death, the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/former-first-lady-melania-trump-launches-new-nft-venture/">NFT</a> “represents the genesis of a creative legend,” according to the video on the NFT page.

The winner of the <a href="https://www.oneof.com/nft/fca79e2f-a8b7-4346-98e6-5a5d8c0b6241/auction" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">video</a>, which ended Tuesday not only has personal access to the recording in their OneOf Vault, but also has digital artwork and videos created by  17-year-old critically-acclaimed breakout artist, Diana Sinclair.

In addition to the never-before-heard recording, thousands of more fixed-price NFTs, including Gold and Platinum offer rare historical pictures from Houston's early life and career built as animations were sold elsewhere in the Whitney Houston NFT collection.
<h2><strong>Proceeds of the Sale Will Go to Good Causes</strong></h2>
Proceeds from the sale which has generated more than $1.1 million will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering the youth and creating opportunities for their success.

In many cases, the proceeds from the sales of NFTs linked to artists go to good causes. One such instance includes the Freddie Mercury-inspired NFTs that was released to benefit an AIDS research charity.
