Nexia BT Technology, a Maltese tech-auditing firm that comes under Nexia BT has <a href="https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/nexia-bt-gets-new-licence-despite-panama-scandal.793178" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">received </a>a license from Malta Digital Innovation Authority, MDIA. The firm also has some major links to a huge scandal named Panama Papers. This license has been issued for the auditing of protocols of high-risk firms and internal IT system protocol. It has also been specified by one of the spokespeople of the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/list-of-top-blockchain-development-companies-to-watchout-for-in-2020/">firm</a> that despite being facilitating Panama Papers, the firm has been receiving contracts and sanctions from the government.
<h2>Nexia BT spokesperson said MDIA regularly reviews license holders</h2>
While announcing about receiving the license from MDIA, the spokesperson of Nexia BT has said that MDIA has not found out any kind of criminal proceedings against the firm. Not only this there has not been any kind of license suspension that has been imposed on the firm. It is an authority that regularly reviews each of its license holders and makes sure if there is any kind of suspicious activity.

The spokesperson has said this because Nexia BT is among one of the most controversial companies based in Malta. It is also known for setting up several offshore companies for two of the central authorities including former chief of staff and former tourism minister.
<h2>The company changed its name for the second time</h2>
This is for the second time that the firm has been changing its name. Earlier, it was known as BT C&amp;R Services when it changed its name to Nexia and now it has changed its name to NBT <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/nexia-bt-technology-receives-license-from-mdia/">Technology</a>. This name changing process took place just after a month when the firm has gained a license from MDIA. Even though the firm has received the license of Malta’s authority, it is still under a lot of suspicions due to its name associated with many different things. Last year, one of the partners of the firm, Karl Cini, resigned from the post of the director because he was associated with the Panama scandal.
