Derin Finzer, the co-founder and CEO of <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/is-opensea-right-platform-for-you/">OpenSea</a>, has said that the non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace would redouble its efforts to protect against plagiarism, IP infringement, and fraud.
<h2><strong>OpenSea Wants to Curb Scams, Fraud, And Plagiarism</strong></h2>
In a <a href="https://opensea.io/blog/announcements/our-efforts-to-curb-fraud-and-plagiarism-and-whats-next/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blog post</a> on published on Wednesday, Finzer wrote that although fraud, intellectual property (IP) theft, and plagiarism are prohibited under OpenSea's terms, comprehensive policies aren’t adequate considering the organization's massive scale. Hence, the platform has tried to combine both product and human-led efforts to deal with the many challenges that evolve with the NFT ecosystem.

In terms of product-based solutions, the platform has built a new verification system to combat the bulk of banned activities, including an image scanning "copymint prevention system" and improved search functionality to help people find authentic content. Additionally, the NFT platform has focused on customer support in terms of human-led enforcement such as making senior hires across Engineering, Product, and Moderation to get more strategic on enforcement.

Throughout the remainder of 2022, <a href="https://opensea.io/">OpenSea</a> has vowed to build more effective solutions such as "theft and scam prevention" by automatically hiding suspicious NFT transfers, to lower their visibility on individual profile pages. It also plans to build "IP infringement tools" for greater protections around transferred NFTs, reducing spam, and partnering with third parties and creators of all sizes. Moreover, the platform will "Scale review and moderation" by building a dedicated moderation team and adding critical auto-detection methods for copyright issues and other vectors of fraud. Lastly, it looks towards "cutting down critical response times in high-touch areas" by pulling average response times below 24 hours.
