A concept, which earlier claimed that Turkey is a crypto-savvy country, has been <a href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/new-data-debunks-reports-of-turkey-as-leader-in-crypto-adoption" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disparaged</a> by the new survey. 

Paribhu, the major Turkish crypto exchange, organized a survey with an aim to identify at least 1,000 citizens of Turkey who may have heard about the cryptocurrencies.
<h2>Paribu Organizes Survey During COVID-19 Outbreak </h2>
When the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic was on its peak, the exchange was taking the video interviews of 6,000 people who were from different cities of Turkey. Its result has ridiculed the myth about the crypto environment of Turkey.

Earlier, a report published stated that one-fifth population of Turkey has used or owned the cryptocurrency and after this news, many of the crypto players around the world started paying more attention to it.

In the first half of 2019, Statista started an online global survey in 18 countries and got around 1000 response from per country. While announcing the result of its poll, Statista, stated that Turkey is the country with the highest number of crypto adoption in the world and it a global leader for that.

On July 23, Paribu did a new survey and found that in Turkey less than 1 percent of citizens use cryptocurrency. 
<h2>Akademetre Research Company Survey On Behalf Of Paribu</h2>
The recent report by Paribu is totally different from the earlier global survey report.

The survey has been done on behalf of Paribu by Akademetre Research Company. The company revealed the result in the Cryptocurrency Awareness and Perception Survey report.   

According to the report released by Research Company, out of 6,253 people, who gave the online interview, only 44 were dealing in cryptocurrencies. It could be that til date only 0.7 percent of the Turkish have ever purchased or traded the cryptocurrencies.

It also outlined that 97 percent of the citizens did not even know that the blockchain technology is used to offer or operate the digital asset. And lastly, 84 percent of the people did not know what actually cryptocurrency or bitcoin is, because they have never heard of it.
