Solana’s answer to MetaMask Ethereum wallet Phantom is planning to launch a mobile version of its wallet after reaching 1.2 million active users. Reportedly, the company is planning a "private beta around the holidays" with a full-fledged launch set to be released in January.

Phantom, the popular cryptocurrency wallet and browser extension that allows Solana users to transact with <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/institutional-investors-moving-to-defi-and-altcoins-over-bitcoin-report/">DeFi</a> protocols, is soon going to release a mobile version of its wallet, as announced at the Breakpoint conference in Lisbon.

Phantom is the most popular non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet that allows merchants to send, receive or exchange tokens within the Solana ecosystem and also offers the options to buy; sell; and even create tokens. The project recently touched a milestone of over 1.2 million weekly active users within only a couple of months. With the wallet service currently only confined to desktop, it does not seem sustainable for the DeFi traders on the move.

Commenting on the move, Brandon Millman co-founder and CEO of Phantom said in a statement:

Solana is one of the fastest-growing blockchain ecosystems in the field.  In fact, the total value locked (TVL) within Solana-based DeFi protocols currently sits at $15.25 billion, according to <a href="https://defillama.com/chain/Solana" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">DeFi Lama.</a>
