Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Football Club has inked a deal with the Etherum-based global fantasy football firm Sorare to become its 100th licensed club member, according to an announcement on Twitter.
Sorare will tokenize the current stars of PSG such as Neymar, Marco Verratti, and Kylian Mbappe on the blockchain. The global fantasy football would release their digital cards subsequently after some time.
Sorare To Release Digital Cards Of PSG Star Players
The fans of the football stars can buy these digital cards and can trade or collect them, and create their own fantasy squad to compete against other Sorare players.
It has been notified that the former PSG player David Beckham along with his 2013 team will also be tokenized by Sorare.
In various irregularities, the users can buy the playing cards, which include limited-edition cards from the fantasy football firm Sorare. Each of the limited edition cards will be scarce through the blockchain.
The Ethereum-based global fantasy football will use the social channels of PSG to advertise about their partnership, which will be a semi-regular process.
It is to be noted that PSG, which had reached the finals of the 2020 Champions League, is at number 6 position in terms of social media presence.
PSG F.C. has over 80 million followers in total across platforms.
Sorare Expanding Business
While talking about the new deal with the PSG F.C., Nicolas Julia, CEO of Sorare, said, “Paris Saint-Germain is this year’s Champions League finalist with incredible players in the team such as Neymar and Mbappé. It’s an honor to have them join as the 100th licensed club.”
Julia further stated that advertisements played an important role in process of recruiting new members.
Meanwhile, Sorare has been planning to grow the business in the U.S. and has introduced the game officially in the country.
