Ozzy Osbourne has become the latest rockstar to hop on the NFT bandwagon by announcing the release of his latest CryptoBatz NFT project. Other rock and metal icons who have gotten into NFTs include Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, and Slipknot’s Clown.
<h2 class="post-body-title">NFT Collection With  Mutating Feature</h2>
British heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne has announced his first collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), dubbed the ‘CryptoBatz’ collection. Featuring 9,666 unique NFTs created by the icon himself, the digital collectibles will be available for purchase next month.

The ‘CryptoBatz’ range is a nod to one of his most infamous moments. In 1982, while performing live in Des Moines, Iowa, the musician bit the head off of a live bat on stage. He later claimed he thought it was a toy thrown to him by an audience member.

Osbourne told <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/exclusive-ozzy-osbourne-announces-nfts-cryptobatz-collection-1276535/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Rolling Stone</a> that he decided to launch his own NFTs after his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, talked him out of buying a Bored Ape.

<em>“I’ve been trying to get in on the NFT action for a while so when I asked Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts of buying my own, and she said no, I decided to create my own.”</em>

Created in collaboration with NFT studio called Sutter Systems, the collections include a feature that allows Cryptobatz to bite and mutate with another NFT from an owner's digital wallet, creating a new mutant "bat" that combines features of two separate projects, making them very rare and collectible all on their own. This is similar to the <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/founders-of-bored-ape-yacht-club-collaborate-with-guy-oseary/">Bored Ape Yacht Club’s</a> (BAYC) ability to transform into mutant apes.

Pre-sale for the CryptoBatz collection is open now via the CryptoBatz Discord channel. Public minting will open in February, with the ability to mint up to three of the NFTs per digital wallet.
