Investment firm SkyBridge Capital, founded by former White House Communications Director Anthony Scarammuci has launched a new investment fund focused on Bitcoin mining.

According to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) <a href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001924681/000192468122000001/xslFormDX01/primary_doc.xml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filing</a>, the investment product called SkyBridge BTC Mining L.P. raised around $7 million. The New York-based company created the fund for limited partners to co-invest in one of the leading Bitcoin mining firms, Genesis Digital Assets.

Skybridge was previously part of Genesis’ $431 million capital raise last year, making this the second time the hedge fund invested in the mining company. Last month, the company revealed a new self-hosted BTC mining data center in Sweden.

The hedge fund already had investments in several publicly traded miners, through its First Trust SkyBridge Crypto Industry and Digital Economy ETF and SkyBridge Digital Innovation.
