Stripe is Partnering with Polygon for its Next Crypto Push

Stripe Partnering with Polygon
Stripe, a payments processor, is partnering with Ethereum scaling platform Polygon to let Stripe customers pay retailers, freelancers, content creators, and service providers in crypto. Initial payouts will be done using Polygon's native USDC stablecoins and Polygon-compatible wallets, according to a statement released on Friday.

Twitter Will be the First Company to Try out the Feature

Twitter (TWTR) will be the first company to test the feature, allowing users of the company's monetization products such as "Ticketed Spaces" and "Super Follows" to get revenue in bitcoin. Stripe has stated that it will gradually expand support for new rails and payout currencies. Stripe is being used by cryptocurrency exchange FTX to provide onboarding and identity verification functionalities.

Last month, Stripe partnered with FTX and Blockchain.com to support exchanges, on-ramps, wallets, and non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces.

In 2014, Stripe became the first large payments company to allow bitcoin payments, although it stopped doing so in 2018.
