Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka has become the latest public figure to become a brand ambassador for FTX cryptocurrency exchange. As part of the agreement, Osaka will receive an equity stake in FTX and will also be paid in cryptocurrency.

The crypto exchange noted that Osaka's ambassadorship roles will largely center on "bringing women onto the platform and into the future of Web3."

"We have seen the statistics about how few women are part of crypto by comparison, which kind of mirrors the inequality we see in other financial markets," Osaka said in a statement. "Cryptocurrencies started with the goal of being accessible to everyone and breaking down barriers to entry. I'm excited to partner with FTX to get back to that mission and to innovate on new ways to reach more people and further democratize the space."

FTX recently hired Larry David for its Super Bowl commercial and last year named Tom Brady and his supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen as brand ambassadors. Osaka marks one of the first major female professional athletes to partner with FTX.

"Our partnership with Naomi Osaka will further our goal of getting more diverse voices involved in the future of digital currency and Web3.
