Blockchain platform Tezos has scored a new multi-year sponsorship training kit deal with one of Europe’s most prestigious football clubs Manchester United, the Athletic <a href="https://theathletic.com/news/manchester-united-to-unveil-new-20m-per-year-training-kit-sponsorship-with-blockchain-platform-tezos/rYYZItRffT3P/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">reported</a>. The deal, which is yet to be officially announced,  is set to be worth more than £20 million ($27 million) a year.

Manchester United is considered to be the 4th most valuable football club in the world. The recent partnership with Tezos represents Manchester United’s first major incursion into the blockchain space as the club looks to maximize opportunities in Web 3.0, NFT, and Metaverse arenas.

Under the partnership, Tezos will have the right to show off its logo on the club’s training kit. Furthermore, the football club has already shot promotional materials at the club’s training centre ahead of an announcement.

<h2>Tezos Jumps into the Sports Arena</h2>
Tezos has shown exceptional growth in recent months and now averages over 300,000 transactions per day which is over 25% of Ethereum transactions and over 6 million smart contract calls per month.

Tezos has been heavily investing in sports sponsorship. Recently, the proof-of-stake blockchain platform signed a partnership deal with the New York Mets in May 2021. The same month, Red Bull Racing Honda announced a partnership with Tezos to build the racing team’s first-ever NFT experience. The blockchain platform has also become a sponsor of McClaren Racing across Formula 1, Indycar, and Esports.

In January 2022, the French esports organization Team Vitality named Tezos as its primary technical partner, describing it as one of the largest deals in 'European esports history.'
