The United States Customs and Border Coverage (CBP)<a href="https://www.cbp.gov/trade/stakeholder-engagement/coac"> advisory committee</a> has announced plans to start live tests of its blockchain-based highbrow assets right evidence.

The CBP said in its website, the Business Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) would monitor its operation from August to to September. The COAC gives advice to secretaries of the Division of the Treasury and the Division of Places of Birth Safety.

However, the announcement comes through the COAC’s Next Generation Facilitation Sub-committee. Additionally, this is a committee involving four working groups whose aim is to improve trade and government within the CBP.

Currently, the subcommittee is participating in three on-going proof-of-concept projects involving blockchain technolo. One of the projects called Intellectual Property Rights Proof of Concept, is an attempt to run shipments through blockchain by relying on ready existing licencor and sub-licensee relationships.

Moreover, according to COAC’s recent report, this specific proof-of-concept will undergo tests staring this month:

Since the last in person meeting in March, the working group has progressed through the overall project design, implementation of the initial engineering plan, and integration of Trade and CBP systems. Live testing of the system will start at the end of August and conclude late September.”</em></strong></blockquote>
<h2><strong>Previous blockchain shipment testing </strong></h2>
In 2018, the CBP ran a live test for a blockchain based shipment project relating to tracking shipments. According to reports, the system was a combination of CBP’s legacy append as block-chain based infrastructure developed by the Department of Homeland Security.

The Director of CBP’s Innovation and Transformations, Vincent Annunziato said that he had believed Blockchain platforms were insufficiently compatible with each other.
